  • How strong/crazy you gotta be to completely wear down Nadal in French open?? That`s what Djokovic did! Nadal was out of sorts in 4th set. Novak was still looking fresh and currently in killer mode in that last set... Just destruction mentally and physically

  • Well done on reaching the semis at the age of 35. It probably wasn't his best day as he said but I think it's his ageing body that's more of an issue. I recall many pundits predicting Rafa's early retirement given his very physical style of play, but he proved that wrong by winning majors as a 34 year old. As a long time fan following his career since he started making headlines as a teenager, I think it's a miracle that he has stayed competitive for this long. No shame in getting knocked out in the semis, although against Novak it would hurt a little more. To those not so discerning Nole fans who belittle Rafa and Roger, these two guys peaked earlier in their respective careers compared to Nole, that's all. I'm just saying as I'm getting a bit tired of hearing derogatory remarks against the two.

  • I love Nadal , he is may favourite player . It has to be said though , he chokes very often against players, that are having a great game . If the game is close , you can almost tell he is going to bottle it . And he does is every time with Novak . Even at the end of the first set, I thought Novak at 2/1 on Bet 365 was good value . And you just knew he was losing the tie breaker in the third, when he lost serve in the first point . I honestly think this semi was a watershed moment for both . It will confirm to many . That Novak is the No 1 Goat in world tennis . And not many people can argue with this now

  • Huge Rafa fan!! Must say, diff between Nole and Rafa Is when Nole is down, it brings the best tennis. When things go a little rye for Rafa, it's the opposite affect which I'd say is normal! 95% of most athletes when things get tight, the wheels fall off. Novak? I have no clue. How he does the opposite is mind boggling. Down 2 sets to Musetti. Down 2 against Stefano. Down a break pt against Rafa to go 2 sets to 1 down. And somehow someway it turns him into Super Novak. I'm bamboozled. People say reason they love Rafa Is cuz he never gives up. I disagree. Yes he fights for all pts but he withers when things don't go his way. Novak it's the opposite. He thrives when shit hits the fan. How? I don't know. Boils down to mental. Nole has the strongest mental game we have ever seen.

Additionally, he has finished as the year-end #1 a record-breaking six times, is the only player in history to reach at least nine semi-finals at every grand slam event, has accrued the highest number of ATP ranking points ever, is the only player to win all ATP tour Elite tournaments and is the first and only player to achieve the Career Golden Masters. Come on dude, just accept it.

You know all this better then me you just are having hard time accepting, idk why.

Stefan JovanovicStefan JovanovicIl y a mois

  • These tournaments are becoming huge jokes. Why are they scheduling matches in the middle of the night? Have human beings become BATS or NIGHT OWLS? Human evolution evolved humans to be active during the day when the sun rises and sleep when the sun goes down at night. Humans see better at day time than at night. No type of artificial light will ever equate to natural sunlight. Human physical activity is programmed by nature to be higher during the sunlight hours of the day. What would have happened if electricity was not invented. In the ancient times people played their games during the day. In the future hundreds of years from now; what would people in the coming generations think when they realize that 'these people played their games and matches in the dead of the night'. In addition to these ridiculous behaviours, the older players are hand picked to play at these night games while the younger play at normal day hours. In spite of the fact the the younger players are most likely still going to be going all night parties.

  • Very interesting to hear Nadal point out the conditions when the question wasn't even asked,I've never seen him make excuses before until now, almost seems like he was hard done by because it was an evening match, well rafa you can't have it all your own way and not everyone is going to crumble against you 😉

    chunkschunksIl y a mois
    • @Isaak Agree actually. Both are neck and neck. Any match can go either way. Just the level they are able to play even after so long is unbelievable.

      MayankMayankIl y a mois
    • @chunks It was in 2012, so 9 years ago. 2 days ago, Nadal took the L right in the chin and that shows he became more mature too. Look, it's okay if we don't like one of the players compared to the others, but at least, let's agree they did grow out of their bad habits, both of them. Anyway, I hope we will have other great matchs like that between them until their 40's just like with Federer. I think their next encounter will be at the US Open because I don't see Nadal doing something at Wimbledon where Djoko will probably win.

      IsaakIsaakIl y a mois
    • @Isaak he clearly says the conditions were more advantageous for djokovic,I think if I remember correctly rafa walked off the court in the 2012 final due to rain but the game wasn't stopped by the umpire or referee,at the time djokovic was playing him off the court, the match was abandoned and was played in sunny conditions the next day and rafa won,

      chunkschunksIl y a mois
    • @Mayank Come on now, Rafa literally said the conditions weren't advantageous for both of them but the one who was able to adapt better here won... Nothing spectacular anyway. They are so close in level that at this point, it's the details that can make a winner or a loser. Personally, I am happy. It's like we went back 10 years ago when they were at the absolute peak of their power and fighting like crazy to see who was the Man. I really hope they will fight like that for another 4 -5 years before stopping anyway.

Which is why he is such an inspiration to millions of people around the globe who can see beyond the media spinning and social media trolling. He gives tennis his heart and soul, he loves his family and his country, he shares his wealth with those who need it the most and he stands firmly proud of where he's coming from in spite of the fact that he is being crucified by the Western media for it. I don't recall a tennis player in the recent tennis history having the crowds in the West collectively cheering against him and provoking him constantly the way they do in Paris or London. The fact that he is able to surpass it and pick himself up and win against all the odds, is just admirable. I don't think Nadal or Federer would be able to deal with that level of pressure.

    • at least he didn't "retire" with one of his convenient "injuries" he gets when he knows he's about to lose.

    • Nadal was not even close to his best. Have you ever watched Rafa when he was winning those 13 titles? Do you really think Novak beat the best version of Nadal this year? If you ask this to Novak, even he would agree that Nadal wasn't at his peak performance in this year's semifinal. So many unforced errors, not a very good movement on the court especially after the third set. I have never seen 10 double faults from Nadal in a single match before! 10 free points! That can alone decide the match result. So I think it's weird to claim Novak beat prime Rafa at Roland Garros, this is definitely not the case.

    • Agree 100%! In 2020 Rafa won easily with the worst conditions for him. They played in October... to be objective, Nadal did say “Djoko was better today”, but i absolute agree with you, the amount of hatred Djoker gets is unprecedented
